We are only listing basic community (mostly TOURISM) events that match the General Guide to Albion. We also just added Albion City Council meetings and coming soon... school board meetings. Corrections to the printed calendar - Swingin' at the Shell concerts are at 6:00 p.m. For other changes to events, etc, see the calendar online, and the local news live streaming at AlbionMich.net |

Recycle Center - It is behind the new police station now, it is staffed and open Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and The Recycle center is now staffed and is more strict on what items can be dropped off. Volunteers are needed. Learn more here: |
Art shown in this Issue: The American Molder is an “Occupational Monument” designed to be a tribute to the craftsmen and laborers of the Albion community. It was designed by sculptor Ed Chesney. He was able to portray a non-racial appearance of the face on the Molder, in order to honor hard working people of all races that were employed by the iron companies. The sculpture is located across the street from the Albion Post Office at the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Superior St. A quote by James Russell Lowell |

Holland Park Transformation Project The Speaker at the recent MLK Convocation at the Bohm Theatre was Ruth Holland Scott. Holland Park is named after her father. This was the site of the former West Ward School, that was a segregated school in Albion. Now, a group of dedicated people have made great strides in getting this park transformed. Please visit the Holland Park Transformation facebook page, "like" the page, and watch for more information on how you can help. Read an article by Wes Dick on the transformation project. |
