Additional Educational Options

• An Alternative Day School Educational Program is offered to students who have difficulty in the traditional school setting. Nationally known Starr Commonwealth Schools offers the program in cooperation with the Calhoun Intermediate School District. Program goals are to develop positive coping techniques in the school setting, to enhance basic academic skills, and to return the student to the regular school program.
  
  
• High school students also have an alternative site for high school completion through the adult education department. A specially designed day program assists students who may be in need of a less traditional setting in order to achieve graduation.
  
  
• Summer school opportunities are available at the middle school and high school levels.
  
  
• P.O.W.E.R. for Kids provides a 7-week summer experience for students grades 5, 6, 7. The program provides participants with opportunities for self- development and community volunteerism.
