HARRINGTON SCHOOL 6th GRADE 1964-65
Morning Star, August 15, 2021, pg. 4
2021 is the year for a couple of big high school reunions later this fall. On October 1 the Albion High School Class of 1970 will be holding its 51st reunion (no 50th of course last year due to COVID-19 closures). The following day on October 2 the class of 1971 (my class) will be holding their 50th. Invitations have just been sent out to surviving 1971 class members, so please be prompt and make your reservations. Let’s especially greet all those from out-of-town who are coming back to Albion for these milestone events when the time comes. If you are in the Class of 1971 and didn’t get an invitation (they were sent August 10), please contact Linda (Miller) Waito at: waitolinda@sbcglobal.net, or yours truly at albionfp@hotmail.com
During the 1960s, Austin Studios took individual photographs of elementary school children, but also made a composite class photograph which you could purchase from them. This is the "way we were," and we looked much younger in black-and-white. Do you have any of these composite photographs like we’re picturing this week?
From our Historical Notebook we present a composite photo of Miss Dorris Bailey’s 6th grade class at Harrington School, 1964-65, part of the future AHS Class of 1971. Left to right, first row: Miss Bailey, Eddie Judy, Helene Wilson, Jim Torrey, Dianne Reed, Rex Henry, Patricia Sloan, Kenneth Knorr, Karen Burkwalt. Second row: Michael Bearman, Dan Raboken, Debbie Taylor, Vernon King, Steve Burstein.
Third row: Sheila Mills, Douglas Appelt, Joseph Domingo, Sarah Burgess, Mark Culbertson, Mark Gillespie, Nancy Brandt. Top row: Rick Ortiz, Barbara Torrey, Jeff Zimmerman, Carol Ross, Tom Schwab, Susan Mills, Steve Riggs, Penelope Vickers, Rick Harris.
