In February 1908, Albion suffered its first major disaster in the form of
a flood. Twenty-four inches of snow had fallen, followed by a night
of rain and a day or sunshine. Within twelve hours, the river had
risen 8 feet. That night the Homer dam broke. In Albion, homes
and stores were destoryed. The only bridge remaining was the one
on East Cass. |
