Since the publication of the original article July 31, 1994, we have been able to identify most of the persons in the Emancipation Day photograph with the help of many persons. We are adding these to this internet version of the article. The photo is split into four segmented parts. The identity of the known persons is pasted next to the face (mostly below the face).
